About David:

David Worden has many years’ experience as a District and Town councillor for our town and is Deputy Leader of the North Devon Liberal Democrat group. He has campaigned on many issues including the Swimming Pool, YMCA, Sports facilities, fair funding for South Molton, car parking problems, protection of open spaces, encouraging the use of local shops and businesses. He has been involved in green initiatives (was honorary secretary of the forerunner of South Molton Recycle) and proposed a major motion on climate change at NDC.

Well known nationally in education circles, David is a chief GCSE examiner and trainer for AQA. He has written many books and teacher resources for various publishers including Oxford University Press.

He is an active Christian locally and has preached in India, Russia, Kenya and Ghana and enjoys singing with the South Molton Circuit Choir.

He chairs the Sports and Physical Activity Area Network, the Community Gardens, is a Trustee of Arts Destination South Molton (ADSM) and a member of the South Molton in Bloom Committee.

David has a passion to get fair funding and a better deal for South Molton.
