Kirsten Johnson, the first woman to have been selected to stand for Parliament in N Devon is to hold her first Westminster surgery at the Councillors’ Surgery on Saturday, 13th October. She will be at The Amory Centre in South Molton from 10 – 11am. No appointment is required.
She will hold her second surgery at Lineal, on The Strand in Barnstaple on Friday, October 19th from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. Again, no appointment is required. Both venues are disabled friendly.
Commenting on the start of her Westminster surgeries, Kirsten says. “I like the fact that my first surgery will fall on Margaret Thatcher’s birthday. As a Liberal Democrat, whilst I did not share her politics, I do realise how hard it must have been to become the UK’s first female PM. I admire her determination, if not her policies. I hope that, over the coming months, many people will come to see me at my surgeries. You don’t need to make an appointment, which makes them properly accessible and I will be holding them across the constituency, not just in Barnstaple.”
