About Mel:
Born and bred in Barnstaple, Mel Lovering works in the maternity ward at North Devon District Hospital and is a Town Councillor with a passion for environmental and heritage issues.
Mel’s been chair of Barnstaple carnival committee and secured a lottery grant in 2016 to put on the vintage fair, steam engine road run and publish a book about Barnstaple fair. She will be arranging another event with a steam engine road run for this September 2019.
