The Lib Dem plan for
Bickington

1. Clean up North Devon’s mess

Due to a dispute with North Devon Council’s waste and recycling team , a local contractor has stopped emptying 19 dog waste bins in Bickington, Sticklepath and Roundswell and the parish council has removed them.

This sorry situation needs fixing.

2. Stop the traffic jams

The Taw bridge has moved Barnstaple’s ‘home of the traffic jam’ status to Bickington. With more houses being built in Instow, Yelland, Fremington and Bickington, it’s only getting worse.

We will campaign to tackle this massive problem through a bypass, road upgrade or something else entirely.

3. Affordable homes and facilities

Our children need homes where they grew up, but building more homes requires better infrastructure and care to avoid anti-social behaviour.

We will encourage a common-sense approach with planning applications and help to ensure the right homes are built in the right parts of Bickington.
