The result from the Bickington by election for Fremington Parish Council means Lib Dems have gained yet another seat from the Tories in North Devon!
Congratulations Joy Cann who polled 268 votes (80.7%). Her only opponent, Labour, polled 64 votes (19.3%). This vacancy was caused by the resignation of Tory Councillor Jackie Flinn so is a Lib Dem gain from Conservatives.
In the District Fremington by election, as expected, the Ind polled 577 votes (50.8%), Lib Dem Graham Lofthouse polled 119 votes (10.5%), Labour got 65 votes (5.7%) and the Greens 19 votes (1.7%).
Since the general election last year Lib Dems have won seven council by elections in North Devon, gaining four seats from the Tories one from Ind and held two seats.
