Liberal Democrat Cllrs Ian Roome and Joy Cann are really pleased that Yeo Valley Community Woodland in Barnstaple has retained its Green Flag status, as one of the UKs best green spaces.
The park is among a record-breaking 1,797 UK parks and green spaces that have received a prestigious Green Flag Award this year. This international award is a sign that the parks boast the highest possible environmental standards, are beautifully maintained and have excellent visitor facilities.
Yeo Valley Woodland are owned and managed by North Devon Council with the help of very active community groups including the Friends of Yeo Valley Woodland.
Yeo Valley Liberal Democrat Cllr I Roome said " The Friends of Yeo Valley Woodland have really worked hard to retain the Green Flag status and its superb for them to volunteer their time and efforts. I love walking around the woodland and seeing the different plant varieties. What a gem in our area."
International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme.
