Local Lib Dems are campaigning for Section 106 money to help repair the Gorwell play park.
District Councillors Joy Cann and Ian Roome have raised safety concerns about the crumbling surface of the popular local play park.
County Councillor for Barnstaple North, Brian Greenslade explained: “The failing safety surface of the play park has been patched many times over the years and will soon need replacing. The swings and other older equipment also need to be checked carefully.”
Section 106 money is a type of special contribution set aside from new developments for the local community. It is hoped that funds from the new housing development on Goodleigh Road can be set aside to help fix the play park.
